Woo Canada!

omg! so much honking and hollering! between firetrucks zipping by with flags joyfully attached, and young men crammed into pickup trucks hollering and waving their shirts over their heads. it took an extra long time to get home today. streetcars were being stopped by ecstatic mobs in the street- one streetcar on college was surrounded by a hoard of at least 100 people, banging on the side of it. i can only imagine what the poor passengers inside were thinking!

the streetcar i was on finally made it to bloor street, but had trouble crossing, as an informal parade of olympics fans and overloaded vehicles were blocking the intersection. it was complete chaos. it's a very happy day for canada. k, time for movie night with cuteboy!

i did my first portrait today

jon let me try doing a portrait on him. we did it really little so we could cover it up easy in case it sucked. he already told me that he didn't mind having a bunch of 8-ball and bomb tattoos all over him. maybe next time, we will do something a little bigger....

then and now

a young man came into the shop with an outline he had done about 2 years ago. he wanted to get it filled in.


many artists don't like to finish someone else's work, but i didn't really mind. he came back in the next day and we filled the subject matter in. we still need to do a softish background, but we are waiting now for everything to heal up. i saw the young man on the streetcar the other day. his arm is healing great, and he is the proud owner of what is currently "the hottest thing in [his] school"! awesome!

stuart had the fortune to get a client who really liked getting tattooed - so much, that he came in for a new one every day (except tuesday because stuart wasn't working).
